He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren Tania (married to Michel el Ghoul), Jean-Eric (married to Kaitlin Thomas), Georges (married to Amanda Garvis), Thierry (married to Ann Tran) Stéphanie and Christian and six great-grandchildren Joseph, Peter, Miles, Ruby, Hailee and Sage each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
His nephew Dr. Ron Daoud—a compassionate man with a gentle and comforting bedside manner, cherished and loved like a son—stood faithfully by his side throughout the years, especially during his final months and weeks.
Roger’s nieces, Ruby, Rita, Sylvia and Daisy were affectionate, loving, and supportive.
Roger leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, compassion, and unwavering resilience.
He spent his childhood in Lebanon alongside his two sisters, Leila (married to Najib Daoud) and Mona (married to Vaje Kalindjian).
In his twenties, he met and married the love of his life, Jeannette, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span decades and continents.
A man of vision and determination, Roger’s life was marked by creativity and ambition. He worked in transportation, pursued innovative ventures, and even designed fireplaces—always staying ahead of his time with new ideas and bold plans. In his fifties, he made his way to California, where he built a successful career in automobile sales, earning respect for his knowledge, work ethic, and natural ability to connect with people.
Roger had a curious mind and a love for learning. He enjoyed reading suspense novels and never missed his daily newspaper. He loved camping, the beach, and especially fishing—times when he felt most at peace. He also delighted in trying new restaurants and sharing meals with family and friends.
He was known for his humor, making jokes until the very end. His stories and larger-than-life personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Roger was resilient and never gave up. If an opportunity did not materialize, he created a new one. He was a giver who cherished his friendships deeply. Even in his final days, he continued to fight with strength and dignity, holding tightly to life and to those he loved.
His legacy lives on not only in his family, but in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, wisdom, and spirit.
Rest in Peace Dear Roger
